Words that rhyme with Anti

Most songwriters treat anti as a workaday word, but the phonology underneath matters: two-syllable, vowel on the short /ɪ/, ending that doesn't close on a consonant at all. It's a word everyone uses — which is what makes it powerful in a lyric. Songwriters who arrive looking for what rhymes with anti find the same uneven map: the picked top sets below tell most of the story: perfect-rhyme territory is narrow, no family rhymes survive the strict family test, and the assonance column dwarfs the others. Lyrically, the word arrives as a plain-speech anchor. The slant-by-vowel column will carry you a long way past the strict matches.

Why anti rhymes the way it does

In our engine, anti registers as a two-syllable word on the clipped /ɪ/ (/ɪ/) that ends on an unbuttoned vowel. In our 54,000-word dictionary the perfect-rhyme pool returns 21 matches, family rhymes 0, additive and subtractive together 83, assonance 6,573, and consonance 357. The empty family column matters less than it looks. Family rhymes are a strict-classifier construct; the songwriter's ear accepts most assonance matches in their place. In the room with a guitar: write toward the strict rhyme first, then go back through and replace the obvious ones with the assonance matches that earned their place. Anti is a word that benefits from the second pass.
