Words that rhyme with Predicted

Approached as a foreknown-word, predicted is a three-syllable core sitting on the short /ษ›/ โ€” which ends with a clean stop. It tells the listener the verse already knows the ending. Pool data: only a handful of strict perfect rhymes survive, the family-rhyme bucket is bare, and the vowel-only slant column is the deepest of the five. Its function in a song, meanwhile, is to act as a word that knows where it's going. Treat the assonance list as the main shelf โ€” the strict column is the footnote.

Why predicted rhymes the way it does

In our engine, predicted registers as a three-syllable word on the centred /ษ›/ (/ษ›/) that lands on a closed syllable. In our 54,000-word dictionary the perfect-rhyme pool returns 6 matches, family rhymes 0, additive and subtractive together 42, assonance 11,670, and consonance 45. That's a narrow strict column with a very deep slant well beneath it. Modern songwriting reads those slants as rhymes; the ear has been trained on them for a century. In the room with a guitar: write toward the strict rhyme first, then go back through and replace the obvious ones with the assonance matches that earned their place. Predicted is a word that benefits from the second pass.
