Words that rhyme with Valuation

Treated as a concept-anchor, valuation is also a three-syllable sound-shape on the centred /ษ›/ โ€” one that trails through a nasal hum. Pair it with something tactile and the line lifts. Engine returns: there's no shortage of perfect matches, no family rhymes survive the strict family test, the slant-by-vowel pool is enormous. Lyric returns: a word that wants concrete rhymes to ground it. Pull from the perfect column first; it has range you can use across a whole song.

Why valuation rhymes the way it does

Pull valuation apart phonetically and you get a three-syllable word with the front /ษ›/ (/ษ™/) as the rhyme-bearing vowel; the close lets the nasal carry the tail. In our 54,000-word dictionary the perfect-rhyme pool returns 770 matches, family rhymes 0, additive and subtractive together 556, assonance 4,765, and consonance 208. That's a deep perfect column. The song can ride strict rhymes from end to end, only sliding into assonance when the line needs to surprise. In the room with a guitar: write toward the strict rhyme first, then go back through and replace the obvious ones with the assonance matches that earned their place. Valuation is a word that benefits from the second pass.
